1. Honda Activa E
The Honda Activa has been a popular scooter in the country with a rich market reach. Owing to its popularity, the company is in the process to introduce a Honda Activa electric version to the Indian market. The manufacturer is planning to bring the electric scooter based on a swappable battery scheme where buyers can opt for the service to replace a discharged battery at swap stations. While the specs like range, top speed, acceleration, battery capacity, charging time, and others have not been yet revealed. The Honda Activa E could launch next year in 2023. 2. Vespa e-scooter
The iconic scooter brand Vespa is working to enter the two-wheeler EV space of India. The arrival of the Vespa e-scooter could set a strong impact on the EV market of the company. Piaggio is aiming to redesign the Vespa as a low-powered electric scooter to make it affordable for everyone. The manufacturer is also exploring the opportunity to develop EV infrastructure in India.
3. Okinawa Okhi 90
Okinawa, a Gurugram-based automobile company, is gearing to unveil its electric scooter Okinawa Okhi 90 in India. The upcoming e-scooter is expected to be announced on March 24. Some of the key features of Okhi 90 have appeared online including the exciting 200km range, 80kmph of high speed, and LED lighting system. The e-scooter will offer smart alerts, navigation, geofencing, diagnostics report, and different riding modes. All camouflaged, the scooter has been cited on roads for testing.
4. Yamaha Neo E01 and E02
Yamaha has previously introduced its two e-scooter globally with E01 and E02. The two electric scooters are anticipated to be equivalent to 120cc and 50cc ICE models where E01 is the jumbo one. The Japanese manufacturer is said t employ BLDC motor into the scooters driven by a removable battery pack. For design, the scooters might feature sporty cosmetics. 5. LML e-scooter
The long-gone automobile brand LML is all set to make its comeback within the country with electric scooters. Dr Yogesh Bhatia, MD and CEO, LML Electric has shared his excitement about returning saying, “We would like to empower the upper-middle and urban segments of society with our range of premium products to drive the change.” The maker will draft its infrastructure and EV manufacturing partnered with Saera Electric Auto at the latter’s Bawal, Haryana plant. However, no model or specification details have appeared so far.
6. Suzuki Burgman Electric
Suzuki is entering the green mobility segment with its EV scooter named Suzuki Burgman Electric. The e-scooter was spotted on Pune roads for testing yet revealing an outline of the design. It appears to boast a slim and trim design with a telescopic fork, disc brake, and alloy wheels. For performance, Suzuki electric scooter is anticipated to be driven by a 4kW motor delivering a range of up to 90km. While further detail is still under a curtain and is expected to be priced at Rs 1.20 lakh bracket. All the aforementioned electric scooters will rival the existing offerings including the Ola S1 series, Simple One, Bajaj Chetak Electric, Bounce Infinity E1, Darwin D-series, and others.
