While there are not many details regarding this headset already, it’s expected to launch sometime in Q1 2023 and be available in the later months. This headset will create a whole new world of interaction between people, say analysts.
Apple MR Headset OS
One of the highly anticipated products from Apple next year is a mixed-reality headset – that leverages both augmented reality and virtual reality for new experiences. While Apple is guarding to stop leaks regarding its development, tips from reliable leakers pour in any way. The latest one comes from Bloomberg, where the report says Apple has rebranded its realityOS – software that powers Apple’s MR Headset – as xrOS. While this is an internal change, the company may let this be the final name when launched. Also, instead of vaguely calling it a mixed reality headset, Apple calls it as an extended reality headset – thus the XR in xrOS. This device is expected to have a suite of Apple apps, like the iMessage, Maps, etc., for wider purposes. Apple is also expected to provide developers with an SDK to create apps and games for the headset, which could be sold through a dedicated App Store for the headset. While there are no further details on this yet, analysts said this gadget could be launched officially in Q1 2023, with public sales starting a few months later. With an estimated price of around $2,000, its shipments for the launch year may not cross 1.5 million units. Earlier reports suggested that Apple has already showcased this product to its board members, while Tim Cook teased it during an interview with the Chinese state-affiliated media.
